What you need to know before taking the Spanish category B theory exam.
What is the DGT theory test like in 2026?
The category B theory test has 30 multiple-choice questions with three possible answers. You have 30 minutes and pass with no more than 3 mistakes. My DGT Test lets you take mock exams under exactly the same conditions.
Are the questions updated for the 2026 rules?
Yes. The database contains 2,700+ questions updated to the current regulations: new signs, speed limits and the connected V-16 warning beacon, mandatory since 1 January 2026.
Can I prepare for the DGT test in English?
Yes. All questions, explanations and the driving manual are available in 9 languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Romanian, German, French and Italian. Switch languages any time to learn the Spanish terminology too.
Is the app free?

I have a foreign driving licence. Do I need to take the DGT exam?
EU licences are valid in Spain. A non-EU licence can be used for up to 6 months after you become a resident. If your country has an exchange agreement with Spain you can swap it; otherwise you must pass the DGT theory and practical tests.
